Mom’s-brand pimento sandwiches recalled

December 8, 2008

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of Mom’s-brand pimento spread sandwiches due to a labeling error.

The FDA said Mom’s Food Products Inc. of Ft Worth, Texas, initiated the recall because the sandwiches might contain undeclared egg yolks, posing a health hazard for people allergic to eggs.

The recalled Mom’s Pimento Spread sandwiches display an expiration date of Dec. 15 through Dec.18 and were sold in a 5-ounce wedge with UPC 83898 00114.

Consumers can return the sandwiches for a refund or contact the company at 800-743-0010 for further information.
