Flooding Found at Former Ami Building

The Environmental Protection Agency reported Thursday that it rescued several boxes from flooding in the basement of the former AMI building.
The boxes, which might not have been decontaminated of anthrax, were raised onto cinder blocks. Meanwhile, crews cleaned the basement floor, said Dawn Harris-Young, an EPA spokeswoman.
The agency then tested the outside parking area for the presence of anthrax spores. None were found, she said.
Harris-Young attributed the water leakage to a broken water pump. BioONE, the joint venture between Giuliani Partners and Saber Technical Services, stopped the cleanup of the building's contents on May 31 when their contract expired.
There has been no word from building owner David Rustine on whether BioONE would resume the cleanup.
