Canada recalls Old Style-brand pastrami

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning against consumption of Old Style-brand pastrami because of possible contamination.

The CFIA said the product, manufactured by Mariposa Meats Ltd. of Mississauga, Ontario, might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause listeriosis.

The recalled Old Style Pastrami was sold in 450-gram packages bearing a sell-by date of 09JA15, Jan. 15. The product was distributed in Ontario.
