Doctors: British woman has two wombs
A British woman said she was shocked to discover that she has two sets of reproductive organs.
Lindsay Hasaj, 27, said she was two months pregnant when doctors told her she had two vaginas, two cervixes and two wombs, ABC News reported Wednesday.
Dr. Ed Huang, associate director of the OB/GYN Residency Program at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, told ABC News an estimated one in 3,000 women have the condition, which is known as uterus didelphys.
He said he has only seen four cases in his 14 years of practice.
Hasaj said she was told she faces a higher risk of premature birth and miscarriage.
