Safeway-brand instant milk recalled
March 2, 2009
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of Safeway-brand instant non-fat dry milk due to possible contamination.
The FDA said the manufacturer, Marron Foods Inc. of Durand, Wis., is voluntarily recalling approximately 140 cases of the non-fat dry milk because it might contain a piece of metal that came off packaging equipment, thereby posing a choking hazard.
The product was distributed nationwide in Safeway Food stores.
Consumers with questions or concerns can call the company at 914-967-2442.
