Pennsylvania DCNR Seeks Comment on Resource Management Plan for Ridley Creek State Park

HARRISBURG, Pa., July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is seeking public comment on a natural resource management plan for Ridley Creek State Park, a 2,600-acre tract in Delaware County.

"This upcoming public meeting gives more than 1.1 million of the park's annual visitors an excellent chance to participate in its resource-management process," said Bureau of State Parks Director Roger Fickes. "We want to hear from those who use and enjoy the park so that their future visits are even more enjoyable and worthwhile."

DCNR staff will be available to discuss the park's natural resources management plan, 6:30-8 p.m., Thursday, July 21, at the Ridley Creek State Park Office, Sycamore Mills Road, Media.

The draft resource management plan for the state park discusses how its natural resources will be managed. Future management objectives are based on scientific and technical data.

The public is invited to visit during the July 21 session to review the plan. Bureau of State Parks staff will discuss the proposals, answer questions and take comments from visitors. Persons unable to attend the meeting can submit written comments up to 30 days after the meeting. Comments will be accepted through Monday, Aug. 22, and should be directed to Jeff Johns, Resources Management Section, Bureau of State Parks, Rachel Carson State Office Building, 400 Market St., P.O.
