Conjoined twins separated in Nashville
Doctors at Vanderbilt’s children’s hospital in Nashville successfully separated conjoined twins Keylee and and Zoey Miller, the hospital said.
The twins, born Jan. 4 in Johnson City, Tenn., were hospitalized in critical condition in Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital after completion Tuesday of the 8-hour surgery. It was the first separation surgery performed at the hospital.
The girls are were fused from the lower breastbone to the naval and shared a liver, the hospital said. They were born with one umbilical cord.
