Undeclared peanuts cause Canadian recalls
April 13, 2009
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning people with allergies to peanuts not to consume Choripdong-brand rice puffs or Bergen-brand almond cookies.
The CFIA said all codes of the Choripdong-brand biscuits (rice puffs), a product of Korea, contain undeclared peanuts and sesame. The product was known to have been distributed in British Columbia and Alberta; however, the federal agency said it’s likely it was distributed nationally.
The Bergen brand of almond cookies, a product of Poland, contains undeclared peanuts and was distributed across Canada by the importer, Dollarama of Montreal.
