Mong Lee Shang bamboo shoots are recalled
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says the Mong Lee Shang-brand of bamboo shoots is being recalled because it contains undeclared sulfites.
The FDA said the Fine Land Corp. of Brooklyn, N.Y., said it recalled
Mong Lee Shang Dry Bamboo Shoots because the product poses a health risk for consumers allergic to sulfites. The consumption of 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions in some asthmatics.
