Dubai's Gold Imports Estimated

According to Al-Bayan newspaper (July 7, 2005), the World Gold Council reported that Dubai had imported 212 tons of gold, valued Dh 5.8 billion, in 2003
. Russia, Saudi Arabia and the UK controlled 54% of these gold imports. In addition, the Dubai had imported 17 tons of scrap gold, valued Dh 585 million, in the same year. Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and India controlled 72% of Dubai's scrap gold imports.Source: Info-Prod Research (Middle East)
