Farmers Market-brand croutons are recalled

May 4, 2009

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of 531 cases of Farmers Market-brand butter and garlic croutons due to a labeling error.

The FDA said the Sugar Foods Corp. recalled the product because the croutons might contain undeclared milk allergens, posing a health risk to people allergic to milk products.

The Farmers Market Butter & Garlic Croutons were distributed to Giant Eagle stores located in the Northeastern United States.

The product is packaged in a 5-ounce stand-up foil re-sealable package containing a yellow background, a full color picture of a salad and The Farmers Market logo with the words Butter & Garlic Croutons in black print on the top. The product is labeled with Best If Used By dates between May 29, 2009, and Jan. 22, 2010.

Consumers with questions can contact the company at 770-459-5225.
