Fukushima, July 8 (Jiji Press)–Tokyo Electric Power Co. on Friday reactivated the last of its 17 nuclear power reactors whose operations were suspended for safety checks following the revelation of inspection data cover-ups three years ago.

The No. 1 nuclear power reactor, with output capacity of 460,000 kilowatts, at the company’s Fukushima No. 1 plant, northeastern Japan, started operating at 11 a.m. Friday.

The operation of the reactor was suspended in October 2002.END
