Indonesia to import 24 million barrels of oil
JAKARTA, July 12 (Xinhua) — Indonesia’s state-run oil firm Pertamina on Tuesday announced its plan to import 24 million barrels of oil to resolve domestic fuel shortage.
Pertamina president Widya Purnama said the import will comprise 16 million barrels of fuel and 8 million barrels of crude oil.
“We hope fuel stock will return to its normal level in the third week or at the end of July because we already confirmed all import commitments,” he was quoted by the Detikcom online news service as saying.
He added the government has paid 3.8 trillion rupiah (some 391. 75 million US dollars) in subsidy for the July importation.
