FDA announces cheese products recall
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of various La Fe, El Viejito and Mi Pueblito brand cheese products due to possible contamination.
The products, manufactured by Quesos Mi Pueblito LLC of Passaic, N.J., were distributed with
Sell-by dates ranging from Feb. 9 to the present in New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Delaware and Virginia.
The FDA said the cheese products might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections.
