Ocean Mist green onions recalled in Canada

September 8, 2009

Canadians are being warned not to consume Ocean Mist-brand green onions because they might be contaminated with salmonella bacteria.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and the product’s importer, The Grocery People of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, said the Fresh Picked Green Onions were sold Aug. 15-Sept. 3 in 5.5-ounce plastic bags bearing a best by sticker reading 95ONCP7G BEST BY 083109.

The onions were distributed in Manitoba, and might have been sold in Ontario, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
