Appleton-brand truffles recalled in Canada
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and the Appleton Chocolates Co. are warning people with milk allergies not to eat the company's dark chocolate truffles.
The CFIA and the Wentworth, Nova Scotia, company said all codes of Appleton-brand dark chocolate truffles, sold in 3-packs, are affected by the alert. The truffles might contain milk not declared on the labeling.
The recalled products were distributed in Nova Scotia and may have been sold from the company's Web site. Officials said the recalled truffles might cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in people allergic to milk.
Consumers with questions can contact the company at 902-548-2323.
