Pampanga-brand sausage recalled

The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the recall of approximately 28,470 pounds of frozen skinless pork sausage because of a labeling error.

The FSIS said the Pampanga Food Corp. of Anaheim, Calif., initiated the recall because the cooked cured pork longanisa was inadvertently packaged with an incorrect label and may contain undeclared allergens, anchovies and-or sardines.

The 10-ounce packages of Pampanga-brand sausage bears a package code ranging from 03043 to 03790, as well as the establishment number EST. 405 inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The FSIS said the sausage products were distributed to retail stores nationwide.
