Exxon Mobil starts production in 3.5 billion dollar oil bloc in Angola
LUANDA, July 18 (Xinhua) -- US oil giant Exxon Mobil Corp unit Esso Exploration Angola said it has started production at its 3.5 billion US dollars Kizomba B project off the coast of Angola, five months ahead of schedule.
According to local media on Monday, the project is designed to produce one billion barrels of oil from the Kissanje and Dikanza fields in approximately 1,000 meters of water more than 322 kilometers off the coast of Angola.
"The Kizomba A and Kizomba B projects, which are the largest of their kind offshore Africa, employ leading-edge deepwater technology to develop significant new oil production capacity."
