Beijing, 20 July: Foreign-funded companies in China obtained 101 pieces of mineral resources prospecting licenses in the first five months, 64 pieces more compared with the same period last year, said an official with the Ministry of Land and Resources here Wednesday [20 July].
Foreign-funded companies also got 15 pieces of mining licenses in this period, said the official.
The official attributed the increasing enthusiasm of foreign- funded companies in mining to the mounting prices of mineral products and increasing demand.
Thus, a large amount of domestic and foreign capital was poured into the mining industry this year, said the official.
From January to May, China issued 4,260 pieces of prospecting licenses and 12,529 pieces of mining licenses in total.
