Dollar Mostly Higher; Gold Up in Europe

LONDON – The U.S. dollar was higher against most other major currencies in European trading Friday. Gold prices rose.

The euro was quoted at US$1.2126, down from US$1.2189 late Thursday in New York.

Other dollar rates compared with late Thursday:

-110.90 Japanese yen, up from 110.08

-1.2891 Swiss francs, up from 1.2824

The British pound was quoted at US$1.7456, down from US$1.7565.

Gold closed in London at US$424.80 bid per troy ounce, up from US$424.10 late Thursday.
