St. Louis Composting has conveyed 1,000 cubic yards of organic compost at cost to PHL Inc. in support of the charitable organization's efforts to refurbish football fields used by teams in the St. Louis Public High League. To date, PHL Inc. has restored three football fields to optimal playing condition. It plans to restore additional athletic fields operated by the St. Louis Public School District in the months ahead.
The results have been dramatic and truly gratifying. We will continue to work with PHL Inc. as it refurbishes new playing fields, said Patrick Geraty, president of the largest composting company in the metro area, in a press release.
St. Louis Composting operates a 26-acree composting center in Valley Park, Mo., and 52-acre facility near Belleville, Ill. It accepts vegetative yard waste at both locations.
