Diamond Production in 2004

World: The volume of diamond production was 150 mil carats and was divided among eight main actors in 2004. They are Russia with 32 mil carats, Botswana with 31.1 mil carats, The Democratic Republic of Kongo with 27 mil carats, Australia with 21.1 mil carats, South Africa with 14.4 mil carats, Canada with 12.8 mil carats, Angola with 6.2 mil carats and Namibia with 1.9 mil carats
. According to value, over 70% from the generated USD 10.2 bil/y are divided among four countries. They are Botswana with 2.57 bil, Russia with USD 1.8 bil, Canada with USD 1.67 bil and South Africa with USD 1.2 bil.Source: Access Czech Republic Business Bulletin
