Death toll rises to 8 inin E. China chemical plant blast
NANJING, July 26 (Xinhua) -- At least eight people got killed Tuesday and three were injured with one still missing in an explosion that hit a chemical plant in Wuxi, a city of east China's Jiangsu province.
The blast broke out at 9:30 a.m. when the Hudai plant was experimenting with a new ingredient for pesticide without getting a necessary safety evaluation from local departments.
The three injured have been hospitalized with no life risk.
Rescue work is proceeding and an investigation is underway.
