Caprius Subsidiary M.C.M. Environmental Technologies Sells SteriMed Junior System to Dialysis Clinic in the U.S. Virgin Islands; St. Croix Facility Represents the First Sale of SteriMed Units in the U.S. Virgin Islands
Posted on: Thursday, 28 July 2005, 09:00 CDT
Caprius, Inc. (OTCBB: CAPS) today announced that its subsidiary, M.C.M. Environmental Technologies ("MCM"), has sold a SteriMed Junior system to a dialysis clinic on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. This marks the first sale of SteriMed units to a customer in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
"The imposition of governmental regulations upon the operation of incineration plants is causing a shift in the method of disposal of medical waste for facilities in this region of the Caribbean. This change is, therefore, creating increased market opportunity for alternative measures for disposing of this hazardous material," said Elliott Koppel, VP Sales & Marketing. "Our SteriMed system offers medical facilities an on-site, safe and easy method for dealing with infectious medical waste in an environmentally responsible, efficient and convenient manner."
Mr. Koppel concluded, "Increased government regulation is just one example of a vehicle steering medical facilities towards alternative means for disposing of infectious medical waste. Increased waste hauling prices, the need to reduce costs and the shift in health care to disposables are other channels that are driving demand for systems, such as our SteriMed system."
