LNG Could Solve Isolation Issues in the Worldwide Natural Gas Market, Says Samuel Bodman in World Energy Magazine

Posted on: Thursday, 28 July 2005, 09:00 CDT

The creation of a global natural gas market will be facilitated by "liquefaction and regasification technologies, infrastructure investments and specially designed LNG double-hulled tankers," says U.S. Secretary of Energy, Samuel Wright Bodman, in the new World Energy magazine.

"There will always be safety concerns with LNG, as with any flammable material," he says. However, until now "there have been more than 33,000 carrier voyages covering 60 million miles over nearly 45 years, and not one major accident."

According to the Energy Information Administration, over the next 20 years natural gas consumption will increase from 22 trillion cubic feet, to nearly 31 trillion cubic feet per year. To read more, get your copy of the new issue of World Energy magazine at http://www.WorldEnergySource.com.

Also in this new issue, BP chief executive Lord Browne outlines the three steps to a new energy future; Chevron chief executive John Gass argues for gas to liquids processes as a means for higher quality products and cleaner fuels; and Pioneer chief executive Scott Scheffield writes about the role the independents play in U.S. oil production.

World Energy and Energy Houston magazines, plus World Energy Television, are uniquely dedicated to providing an unedited forum for the leadership of the global energy industry. Unlike other publications, articles are written by executives themselves with no editorial filter.

World Energy is proud to announce the launch of World Energy Monthly Review. This highly anticipated newsletter will feature timely, in-depth analysis by Professor Michael J. Economides, one of the most recognizable names in the energy industry. He and his team of analysts will craft monthly reports on the energy industry in Russia, China, North America and the rest of the globe.

At the WorldEnergySource.com website, every article published in the last six years is indexed and available for viewing. Additionally, World Energy Television's productions, such as exclusive video interviews with top executives at this year's OTC in Houston, bring faces and voices to the top names in the industry.

Also on the website are daily news items, corporate profiles, over 50 stock exchanges, commodity prices and links to major energy companies. It's all translatable into seven languages, and key-worded and indexed. Registration on the website is free.
