Duke Power Customers Set New All-Time Peak

CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Duke Power customers set a new all-time record for electricity yesterday at 5 p.m. with a peak demand of 18,687 megawatts. This surpassed the previous July 2002 peak of 18,040 megawatts.

Each year, Duke Power adds 60,000 new customers to its system and has a comprehensive planning process to ensure it continues to meet growing customer demand.
