Corrigan Named General Counsel Of Baylor College of Medicine
Robert F. Corrigan Jr., has been named vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Baylor College of Medicine.
The appointment was made by the BCM Board of Trustees. Corrigan was a partner and business attorney with the Health Care Law Group at Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. since 1988. In that position, he has served as an adviser to BCM on a variety of issues.
Corrigan received a bachelor of arts degree from Rice University and a law degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law. He serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center and has been listed as one of the "Best Lawyers in America" in Healthcare Law every year since 2000. He served as chair of the Health Law Section of the State Bar of Texas 2006-2007.
He is a frequent lecturer on a variety of health law regulatory topics, including heath care reform, medical privacy and non-profit governance.
Active in community organizations, he has been involved with Friends of MHMRA of Harris County, an organization raising funds to purchase psychiatric medications for, and providing other support for, indigent Houstonians, since 2005. He also works with Good Neighbor Healthcare Center and Houston Dynamo Charities and he is the president of Houston Express Soccer Club, a youth soccer club serving 2,400 young athletes.
