Kitware Promotes Two Employees to Technical Leader Position
Rusty Blue and Keith Fieldhouse both acknowledged for their outstanding technical achievements and leadership
Clifton Park, NY (PRWEB) May 02, 2011
Kitware today announced the promotions of Dr. Rusty Blue and Keith Fieldhouse to the position of Technical Leader, based on their recent achievements and leadership contributions to Kitware’s computer vision team. This news comes on the heels of Kitware’s tremendous growth, including the anticipated hiring of 20 employees by the end of 2011.
Blue has been employed at Kitware since 2004, and has been instrumental in projects relating to haptic rendering, industrial part inspection and visualization of coastline water simulations as part of the scientific visualization team. He has recently focused on computer vision projects, leading a team of software developers in creating innovative visualization methods for effective presentation of computer vision algorithm results.
Fieldhouse joined Kitware in May 2010 as a member of the computer vision team. Since he started, he has helped pioneer the use of agile development methodologies, which are used by many of the active computer vision projects at Kitware. These methodologies enable the team to rapidly create high-quality software systems through an iterative development process and continuous team communication.
In their new roles as Technical Leaders, Rusty and Keith will be responsible for developing cutting-edge solutions to process and analyze video and image data.
“Kitware fosters a collaborative and supportive environment where employees are empowered to pursue new ideas and opportunities within the company,” said Will Schroeder, President and CEO of Kitware. “The technical leadership position recognizes those employees who show not only outstanding expertise in their field, but who exemplify the team leadership qualities that are essential for a project’s success.”
Kitware has experienced phenomenal growth over its 13 year history, with an average of 30 percent growth each year. Kitware will pass the 100 employee mark by mid-2011, and is expanding its offices in New York, North Carolina and Lyon, France. This growth is fueled by Kitware’s open-source business model, high-quality software processes, and world-wide collaborations.
