Ecology and Environment, Inc. (E & E) Awarded Contract for Work in Canyons of the Ancients National Monument

BOULDER, Colo., Aug. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- E & E was recently awarded a $770,000 contract to prepare a resource management plan (RMP) for this national monument, located near Cortez, Colorado. The monument is home to an estimated 5,000+ archaeologically sensitive areas and is said to contain the highest density of archaeological sites in the nation.

The RMP will guide the Bureau of Land Management in decision making on a range of management issues for roughly the next 15 years. It will address key issues and resources including cultural, oil and gas, recreational use, range management, rare plant and wildlife species, paleontological, soil and water, air quality, livestock, transportation, and consultation with Native Americans.
E & E is operating the project primarily from our Boulder office. The team began work this past month and will run through September 2006.
