SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- All of us like to see ourselves as heroes, even if we sometimes come up short. But now even someone who just looks like one of the real-life heroes of Animal Cops-Detroit can win valuable prizes, and a chance to ride with the crew of the TV program.
The Michigan Humane Society is conducting an Animal Cops Look-Alike Contest for its 12th annual Animal Care Fair, which will be held at the Novi Expo Center on the weekend of November 29 and 30.
Anyone 18 or over who thinks that he or she bears a resemblance to one of the six Michigan Humane Society "Animal Cops" featured on the hit TV program is invited to enter the contest. All they need to do is send a photo of themselves with their name, address and daytime phone number, along with the name of the Animal Cop they resemble, to the Michigan Humane Society.
Photos can be dropped off at any MHS Shelter (Detroit, Westland or Rochester) during normal business hours, or mailed to the Michigan Humane Society at 26711 Northwestern Highway, Suite 175, Southfield, MI 48034. Deadline to drop off photos is Tuesday, November 25, at 5 p.m.
The 18 contestants who most closely resemble the famous heroes will be invited to the Animal Cops Look-Alike finals at the Michigan Humane Society Animal Care Fair on Saturday, November 29 at 2 p.m. A panel of celebrity judges will select six semi-finalists (one for each Animal Cop) from this group.
All contestants participating in the finals will receive a gift certificate from Pet Supplies "Plus," free Pro Plan dog or cat food, and a Michigan Humane Society t-shirt. In addition to the pet food and shirt, the Grand Prize Winner will receive a $200 Pet Supplies "Plus" Gift Certificate and a chance to ride with the Animal Cops.
Animal Cops is the most popular program on the Animal Planet, pulling in 10 million viewers per episode.
