Excerpt from report by Xavier Munoz: "Venezuela to send oil shipments to Ecuador in September", published by Ecuadoran CRE Satelital radio website on 25 August
Caracas: The [Venezuelan] state oil firm Venezuelan Petroleum (PDVSA) is to start sending shipments of crude - which could near 500,000 barrels - to Ecuador in September.
This will bring into force the oil agreement between the two countries aimed at alleviating the effects of the strike in Sucumbios and Orellana Provinces.
PDVSA said the shipments would not just include oil, but nafta and diesel derivatives as well.
In a statement the firm said that it might send further similar shipments in October.
It will do so if the situation of the Ecuadoran oil industry does not evolve favourably. [Passage omitted]
