Newly Signed Federal Energy Bill Fuels Adoption of LED Solid-State Lighting

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Aug. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cyberlux Corporation's (BULLETIN BOARD: CYBL) LED solid-state lighting technology and products address a key component in the recently signed Federal Energy Policy to adopt new, alternative technologies for energy efficiency.
The Energy Policy, also supported by the National Electrical Contractors Association, was signed earlier this month. The National Electrical Contractors Association is the voice of the $100 billion industry responsible for bringing lighting, power, and communications to buildings and communities across the United States.
Through $14.5 billion in new tax credits and deductions, the measure emphasizes a renewed commitment to innovation to supplement a revitalization of the nation's overburdened electrical infrastructure, and encourages energy efficiency and modernization in federal and private buildings.
By addressing incentives for the production and use of alternative energy sources, including solid-state, LED lighting technology, Cyberlux President Mark Schmidt said the federal government will help drive the adoption of next- generation lighting solutions.
"When new, emerging technology is displacing long-standing habits, government incentives to accomplish long-term objectives, such as energy efficiency and less reliance on foreign oil, can be a tremendous boost to adoption," Schmidt said. "It helps remove barriers to entry into established markets and shifts the economic incentives in favor of immediate adoption for electrical contractors and their customers to embrace solid-state lighting technology."
Cyberlux Corporation has developed breakthrough solid-state lighting technology that provides the most energy efficient and cost effective lighting solutions available today. The Aeon products bring newly developed heatless light into the residential and commercial market for use in closets, cabinet interiors, under-cabinet lighting and kitchen counters. The Aeon Pro E product, with energy efficiency levels of 55 lumens per watt, exceeds the 40 lumen per watt requirement of California's Title 24 mandate for kitchen and bath lighting.
Cyberlux is working on similar products and partnerships to bring solid- state lighting benefits to commercial and public buildings. For example, the recently announced joint venture with Bruni Industria Mobili SRL will address the solid-state lighting needs of the European marketplace. Bruni Industria Mobili SRL is a 51-year-old furniture, fixture and consumer products manufacturing conglomerate located in Sora, Italy. It is one of the largest manufacturers of furnishing products, including lighting products and fixtures, for the European market.
