Oil and Natural Gas Drilling Concessions

Al-Quds newspaper reported on the expected signing of a contract between the Shell Royal Dutch International Oil Company and the Libyan National Oil Authority for drilling rights for oil and liquid natural gas. The paper quoted Shell Business Manager for the Middle East and North Africa, Munir Abu 'Aziz, who said in early May 2005 that this contract, which is expected to be signed in late May 2005, includes long-term strategic cooperation in the areas of oil and natural gas exploration, and in the area of liquid natural gas production and marketing to Europe and the United States
. He said that an enormous amount of natural gas is located in the western and eastern parts of the country, and that the liquid natural gas processing station in Marsa al-Bariqi needs renovation and develop work.Source: Info-Prod Research (Middle East)
