EPA Taps CSC for Water Protection Work

Computer Sciences Corp. has won a five-year, $86 million contract to provide support services to the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Water's Water Security Division, the company announced today.
Under the contract, CSC of El Segundo, Calif., will provide scientific, engineering, communications outreach, IT and policy support. The work includes planning and training, development and distribution of outreach materials, contaminant research, analytical method development, laboratory network management, engineering support and security and emergency response improvements at water and wastewater facilities.
CSC also will help improve procedures and performance measures for assessing and mitigating the vulnerability of the nation's water infrastructure.
CSC's team includes CH2M Hill Companies Ltd. of Englewood, Colo.; Emergint Technologies Inc. of Louisville, Ky.; Abt Associates of Cambridge, Mass.; Protection Strategies Inc. of Arlington, Va.; Richard Brady & Associates of San Diego; International City/County Management Association of Washington; and Horsley Witten Group of Sandwich, Mass.
The EPA's Water Security Division was established in 2003 in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks to address water security and infrastructure protection issues.
CSC has about 78,000 employees and annual sales of $14.3 billion. The company ranks No. 4 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list, which measures federal IT contracting revenue.
