Duke Energy to Auction Moss Landing Capacity

HOUSTON, Aug. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Duke Energy will be conducting an auction of a variety of electric generation capacity products from its Moss Landing units 6 and 7 (750 megawatts each). The Moss Landing facility is the largest power plant in California, with four units and a total generating capacity of 2,538 megawatts. The plant is located in Monterey County, about 90 miles south of San Francisco, and is connected to the Cal-ISO managed transmission system in the Western Electric Coordinating Council region.
All qualified bidders are encouraged to participate in the request for offers (RFO) which will be conducted according to the following schedule:
- Aug. 30, 2005 Offering Documents Released - Sept. 7, 2005 Intent to Bid Forms Due - Sept. 26, 2005 Bids Due - October 2005 Contracts Awarded
