Beer Industry Creates 6,900 Jobs in Maine

The beer industry generates more than 6,900 jobs in Maine, according to an economic impact study done for the National Beer Wholesalers Association and the Beer Institute.
According to the study, the beer industry provides 6,912 jobs in Maine. It generates more than $158 million in wages and $106 million in excise and consumption taxes. Jobs are linked to sales, distribution and production.
Nationally, the study found nearly 1.8 million Americans employed directly and indirectly by the beer industry, earning $54 billion in wages and benefits.
