Atmos Energy Corporation CFO to Discuss Hurricane's Effects at Lehman Brothers Energy Power Conference on Sept. 7; Company Maintains Fiscal 2005 Earnings Estimate
Posted on: Tuesday, 6 September 2005, 18:01 CDT
J. Patrick Reddy, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Atmos Energy Corporation (NYSE: ATO), who will be speaking at the Lehman Brothers Energy Power Conference on September 7, 2005, at 7:45 a.m. EDT, will discuss the effects of Hurricane Katrina on Atmos Energy's natural gas operations in Louisiana and Mississippi and the company's restoration efforts that are under way.
Atmos Energy is the largest natural gas utility in Louisiana and Mississippi, serving approximately 654,000 utility customers in the two states. Company officials estimate that Hurricane Katrina has affected service to approximately 230,000 customers. The worst affected areas are located in the Louisiana parishes of Jefferson, St. Tammany, St. Bernard and Plaquemines.
Reddy's presentation will reaffirm Atmos Energy's earnings guidance for fiscal 2005. He will highlight the company's recent accomplishments, review its key strategies for growth and outline its expectations for financial performance. As previously disclosed, Atmos Energy is projecting to earn in the middle of its established guidance of $1.65 to $1.75 per diluted share for the 2005 fiscal year. Because the company's operations are seasonal, operating results for the nine months ended June 30, 2005, are not indicative of the results to be expected for the 12 months ended September 30, 2005.
A live webcast of this presentation will be broadcast on Atmos Energy's Web site at www.atmosenergy.com. The presentation will be archived for 30 days.
