Platforms of offshore oil field in Bohai Bay put into production
BEIJING, Sept. 10 (Xinhua)-- Platforms C and F of BZ 25-1 and 25- 1S offshore oil field have been put into production, said China National Offshore Oil Company Limited (CNOOC Ltd.) Saturday.
More than 5,000 barrels of oil flow from 17 wells per day and 38 additional wells are expected to be completed later, according to CNOOC Ltd.
The BZ 25-1 and BZ 25-1S oil field is located under 20 meters deep of water in the southeastern part of Bohai Bay. The development of the oil field was in two phases.
The first phase of the project was put into production in October 2004, which produces about 20,000 barrels of oil per day from 79 wells. The second phase of the development project, designed to produce more than 15,000 barrels of oil per day during its peak production period,is projected to come on stream in 2006. CNOOC Ltd. acts as the operator of BZ25-1 and 25-1S oil field with an interest of 83.8 percent.
