International Dispensing Corporation Announces Exclusive Agreements With 7-Eleven and White Hen; Two Convenience Store Chains to Carry New 3-Inch Beverage Carafe for On-The-Go Market

International Dispensing Corporation (IDC), (IDND.PK), a developer and marketer of proprietary dispensing solutions, announced that 7-Eleven and White Hen will introduce IDC's new Beverage Carafe packaging, for the on-the-go coffee market, throughout their convenience store chains.
IDC's Beverage Carafe is being rolled out nationally to selected 7-Eleven stores on October 1, 2005. 7-Eleven plans to complete the national rollout by November, 2005. There are approximately 6,500 7-Eleven stores in the US and Canada.
All 216 Chicago-area White Hen convenience stores will roll out the Beverage Carafe during the week of September 26, 2005. "We're really excited about this new product, as we feel it will be instrumental in driving our coffee program to the next level," said Carol Ann Sandell, coffee category manager of White Hen. "We can now, efficiently and safely, provide our customers the opportunity to transport their favorite coffee to share with friends, colleagues and business associates."
IDC's patented Beverage Carafe enables consumers to safely carry one gallon (128 fluid ounces) of hot coffee, and keep it hot for up to three hours. Target customers include construction and road crews, college students and faculty, office personnel for business meetings, and people participating in any kind of group function. The Beverage Carafe's suggested retail price is $11.99, filled with hot coffee. Both convenience chains are offering a refill program in select markets.
Both 7-Eleven and White Hen have worked with IDC to produce their own customer graphics for the side panels of the Beverage Carafe. The corrugated panels give retail outfits prime marketing and promotional opportunities on both side panels, using 4-color graphics. Each company will display its logo and any desired verbiage on the 13-inch corrugated side panels. "We have recently revamped our coffee program and introduced this new beverage carafe as a way to heighten our appeal to the on-the-go consumer. The side panels of the carafe are an attention-getting, leave-behind piece that attract additional passive advertising," says Ari Frank, marketing and advertising manager of White Hen.
IDC's Beverage Carafe is the only disposable, refillable product in the industry. The 3-inch spout enables consumers to safely and quickly fill the package. The Beverage Carafe will be used for regular and decaf coffee, flavored coffees, and teas, and it will also keep cold beverages cold. It features a reinforced plastic carrying handle that makes pouring trouble-free. The unique inner liner maintains a constant temperature and can insulate hot and cold liquids for up to three hours after filling. Through rigorous testing, IDC has found that the shatterproof carafe not only keeps product insulated for three hours with minimal temperature change, it can also safely withstand trauma, such as being dropped. The stand-up pouch prevents splash back during filling.
IDC's innovative packaging has been quickly gaining interest by foodservice, grocery, and convenience outlets for specialty coffee retailing. The Beverage Carafe is comprised of a sterile, flexible, biax nylon pouch attached to a rigid plastic frame, with corrugated side panels that attach to the outside of the frame. A utility patent for the carafe was granted to IDC by the U.S. Patent and Trademark office in April 2002.
