Power Unit Halted for Maintenance at Russian Nuclear Power Station

Voronezh, 21 September: At midnight Moscow time [2000 gmt] on Wednesday [morning] the No 4 power unit at the Novovoronezh nuclear power station was halted for scheduled maintenance and reloading of nuclear fuel, RIA-Novosti was told by the nuclear power station's press service.
No 3 and No 5 power units are currently functioning in the designated mode. Radiation levels at the nuclear power station are normal.
The average level of background radiation at the Novovoronezh nuclear power station and in the 30-kilometre area around is in line with natural levels typical for central European Russia, the press service said.
