Hexion Specialty Chemicals, Inc. Announces Versatics Price Increases Globally

Posted on: Wednesday, 21 September 2005, 12:00 CDT

Hexion Specialty Chemicals Inc. announced today that it will increase the prices of all key product groups in its versatic acids and derivatives business line: VeoVa(TM) Vinylester, Cardura(TM) E10P Glycidylester and Versatic(TM) Acids, in all regions by 150 Euro/metric ton or 200 USD/metric ton (equaling 9 cents per pound), respectively, effective October 1, 2005.

"This price increase is necessary to recover feedstock cost increases we see being implemented and is supported by the continued strong demand for our products," said Ed Hoozemans, Vice President, Versatics.

"Due to strong demand our plants are running at full capacity," Hoozemans said. "The project to debottleneck our vinylester capacity is progressing toward a November implementation. This price increase will help insure adequate capacity to meet the continually growing needs of the marketplace."
