Canyon County Landfill Taking Hazardous Waste
Sep. 23–Canyon County residents can drop off hazardous household wastes at Pickles Butte Sanitary Landfill from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Pickles Butte officials will collect household quantities of deodorizers, cleaners, bleaches, floor wax, spot remover, drain cleaner, furniture polish, aerosol cans, paint, paint thinner, weed killers, fertilizers, pesticides, antifreeze, motor oil, gasoline, brake fluid, solvent, hydraulic oil, pool chlorine, garden chemicals, dry cell and lead acid batteries, electronic components, computers and TVs.
Bring only household quantities of these items. The Saturday collection is not for business or commercial wastes.
Gas and paint are limited to five gallons per person.
Items not accepted include medical wastes, explosives/ammunition and radioactive materials.
Other household waste such as garbage, brush, appliances and tires will be accepted at the normal charge rates.
