Fleet Center, SDG&E Host Family Solar Energy Day
ADVISORY, Sept. 24, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) --
WHAT: The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center will host its first Family Solar Energy Day, an afternoon of family-friendly science activities including hands-on fun for all ages. Activities will include racing small solar cars, building motorized optical illusions powered by solar energy, and solar cooking demonstrations. Children will also have the opportunity to bring home their own small solar panel. The event, sponsored by San Diego Gas & Electric, will help kick off the San Diego Regional Energy Office's Solar Energy Week.
WHEN: Sunday, September 25, from noon till 4 p.m.
WHERE: Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, 1875 El Prado, two blocks south of the San Diego Zoo on Park Boulevard.
WHO: Children engaged in hands-on solar energy activities, Fleet and SDG&E representatives.
VISUALS: Good shots of children engaged in learning about emission-free solar energy - how it works, why is it important to them, and how it represents their future.
