Celanese Texas Gulf Coast Plants Resuming Production Following Hurricane Rita

Celanese Corporation (NYSE:CE) today announced that the four Texas Gulf Coast plants it shut down on Thursday in preparation for Hurricane Rita sustained minimal damage from the storm and are in the process of resuming production.

The company is working with suppliers and customers to assess the hurricane's effect on the supply chain and distribution as it brings the facilities to full production. The company will provide a financial update when the assessment is complete.

The four plants that are starting up are in Clear Lake, Pasadena, Bay City and Bishop, Texas.
