Eagle Rock Energy ("Eagle Rock") today announced the construction of a 23 mile 10" natural gas pipeline traversing Tyler County, Texas. The pipe line will gather gas from existing and newly completed wells across Tyler and Polk Counties and deliver the gas to its co-owned Indian Springs Gas Processing Plant in Polk, County Texas. The pipeline will initially operate at a pressure of 550 pounds per square inch, initially gathering in excess of 15 million cubic feet of gas per day. This gas will be treated for H2S and CO2 removal at the Indian Springs Plant operated by Enterprise Products, L.P. This new line will be in service in the first quarter of 2006.
"This project once again reinforces our commitment to growth through grass roots projects in addition to acquisitions and expansions" says Joan A.W. Schnepp co-founder and President of Eagle Rock. "We are focused on providing better solutions to our producing customers and this is a prime example of giving customers choices and opportunities to enhance their value where choices may not have existed before."
Stacy Horn, Commercial Vice President, who has owned this project from the dream stage, says "this backbone of a gathering pipeline system provides a presence for Eagle Rock in a prolific area, active with drilling. This new pipeline will provide an enhanced level of gathering, treating, and processing service for the Tyler County producing community. There are three producers who are dedicating acreage to this project and we expect significantly more."
Eagle Rock was formed in June 2002. It currently has natural gas gathering and processing assets throughout the state of Texas. Eagle Rock is a portfolio company of Natural Gas Partners, the leading provider of private equity capital in the energy industry. Natural Gas Partners, founded in 1988, is a family of North American private equity funds managed by NGP Energy Capital Management, based in Irving, Texas.
