Japan: Asahi Kasei to Expanding Bemberg Yarn Exports
By Anonymous
Asahi Kasei Fibers Corporation plans export expansions of cupro “Asahi Bemberg” yarn for outerwear applications. Asahi Kasei has developed a corporate strategy containing the following elements: maintain the scale of business by fabric exports; keep the brand image by promoting product development; cause a ripple effect to develop overseas converters seeking Bemberg; and expand yarn buyers for outerwear use. Fabric exports from Japan are limited in terms of cost and quick response. The company will give special priority to yarn exports in close cooperation with converters to develop overseas outerwear markets. Already, several converters in Korea, which received technological guidance from Asahi Kasei, have been successful in exporting to the U.S. and Europe by weaving, knitting, dyeing and apparel manufacturing by using Bemberg. This year, the volume of Bemberg yarn exports to Korea has risen by 20% from the year-ago level.
