Eaton Selected to Supply Five Key Packages on Embraer's Newest Very Light Jet

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation (NYSE:ETN) was selected by Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer to provide five key packages for its recently announced Very Light Jet program. The revenues from these aerospace contract awards are estimated at $70 million over the life of the program
Eaton's extensive involvement includes the design, development and manufacture of the aircraft's hydraulic power generation package; the aircraft's flap system and landing gear control hydraulic components; and miscellaneous cockpit controls, including the throttle, landing gear and flap selector. Eaton is also pursuing additional packages on Embraer's Very Light Jet and the new Light Jet development programs.
"These new contracts significantly strengthen Eaton's long-standing business relationship with Embraer, allowing us to provide several key packages for the emerging small jet market," said Bradley Morton, Eaton vice president and president -- Aerospace Operations.
The Embraer Very Light Jet can carry up to eight occupants and will be powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PW617F jet engines. It is scheduled to enter service in mid-2008.
