Increase Energy Supply

I read with interest the governor’s goal of reducing natural gas consumption by 1 percent a year for the next five years due to the potential for shortages in New England. That idea and $1 might get you a cup of coffee.
A better approach might involve increasing energy supply. Why not a little support for a liquefied natural gas facility in Maine in return for a guarantee that a certain amount will be made available directly to the New England states? And you know, I like fish too, but why not a few hydro-electric dams?
Just think if every state made these kind of decisions, we might really make a difference in our foreign oil dependence instead of living in a land of make believe.
