TPEs Enhance Consumer and Light-Industrial Products
By Molinaro, Hope
Advanced Polymer Alloys (APA) of Wilmington, Del., has announced three new DuraGrip TPE grades in North America for the enhancement of consumer or light-industrial products. Said to offer advantages over competitive materials including improved grip/tactility, ability to create bold colors, and faster cycle times, the grades are available in 30 to 80 Shore A hardness in easily colorable natural, black, translucent, and clear. They are:
* DuraGrip 6000 series-general-purpose grade easy to use in injection molding, overmolding, extrusion, and coextrusion processes;
* DuraGrip 6100-bonds well to PC (polycarbonate), ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene), PC/ABS alloys, nylon, ASA (acrylic-styrene-acrylonitrile); designed for overmolding and coextrusion processing;
* DuraGrip 6800-PDA-compliant grade offering very good elastomeric properties and a soft-touch feel; designed for injection molding, overmolding, extrusion, and coextrusion manufacturing.
