Text of report by North Korean radio on 19 September

According to a report from correspondent Pak Sang-gyu, the Hamnam [South Hamgyong Province] District Coal Mine Complex is vigorously pushing forth the construction of small-and medium-sized power plants upon hearing the inspiring news that the respected and beloved general gave on-the-spot guidance to Moranbong Theatre, which is under reconstruction, without giving [himself] time to recover from fatigue from his on-the-spot guidance to various plants and enterprises and Hungnam Fertilizer Complex.

Based on an audacious goal to build some 10 small-and medium- sized power plants in tiers [Korean: kyedansik] along Tokchi River, the complex is ensuring that the functionaries go out to construction sites and resolve bottlenecks in good time and calling the masses to carry out great services. Standing at the vanguard of innovation are the shock brigade members of Tunjon Coal Mine, Kyongdun Coal Mine, and Songnae Coal Mine who are in charge of the construction of To'kchigang No 7 Power Plant.

While breaking through obstacles and difficulties with a revolutionary soldier spirit, they are accelerating the work to put together power plant facilities at the final stage after finishing the work to construct a dam and floodgate, build a tunnel, spread concrete, construct water-mixing tanks, iron pipe lines, and [power] generator room.

On the other hand, the shock brigade members of Sudong Food Administration Station completed the construction of Tokchigang No 9 Power Plant and started generating electricity while greeting the 60th anniversary of the fatherland's liberation by strongly kindling the flames of collective innovation.

Meanwhile, the builders of Kowon Coal Mine, Sudong Coal Mine, December 16th Coal Mine, and Sudong geological survey team in charge of constructing To'kchigang No 4 Power Plant also completed the work to make tunnels and construct waterways within several months and are now accelerating the work to cover up pits and construct an [power] generator room.
